As development of Marcellus Shale natural gas continues to grow in Pennsylvania, so do the business opportunities. If you own a small to medium-sized business or are considering starting one, you can't afford to miss this program. Janice Lobdell, Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Association (PIOGA), will provide information and insight that will help you understand the drilling process including horizontal drilling technology, potential economic impact, and supply chain opportunities. Mike Narcavage, Chesapeake Energy Corporation, will discuss Chesapeake Energy's operations, what they are looking for from potential vendors, steps to becoming established as a vendor, and best practices to successfully working in the industry. Joann Kowalski, Penn State Cooperative Extension, will lead a panel discussion with several local companies who are already responding. Experts from format: MetroAction, the University of Scranton Small Business Development Center, and the Northern Tier Regional Planning Commission will provide information on small business planning and financing. Registration and payment are required by March 11.
